Early Life and Career
Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frédéric Macron was born on 21 December 1977 in Amiens, France. He studied philosophy and public administration before entering the civil service. In 2007, he joined the Socialist Party and served as an economic advisor to President François Hollande.
Election to Presidency
In 2016, Macron left the Socialist Party and founded his own political movement, La République En Marche! (Republic on the Move!). He ran as an independent candidate in the 2017 presidential election and won a decisive victory, becoming the youngest president of France since Napoleon Bonaparte.
